Introducing International Competition

Based in Miami, Florida, Warren Wamberg is an experienced finance and insurance professional who has served as CEO at Wamberg Genomic Advisors since 2017. He has also worked as president of the Insurance and Corporate Business of Human Longevity, Inc. and as chairman of Uniphy Health. When he isn't working, Warren Wamberg enjoys playing and watching golf.

Despite the absence of major draws like Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, the 2021 Ryder Cup experienced a significant final day increase in TV viewership from the prior event in 2018. This is good news for the PGA Champions Tour, which intends on hosting a similar international competition titled the World Champions Cup in 2022.

In partnership with sports marketing firm Intersport, the PGA Champions Tour will host the annual event that will feature the following three teams: Team USA, Team Europe, and Team World. The Ryder Cup, in contrast, only features the United States and Europe. Jim Furyk (USA), Darren Clarke (Europe), and Ernie Els (World) will captain the teams for the inaugural event.

The match play competition will take place over the course of three days at a course in the United States. Teams will compete against each other in both teams and singles formats with two nine-hole matches per day. Points will be awarded for each hole won, and the team with the most points will be the first-ever World Champions Cup winner.

How Does Bank-Owned Life Insurance Work?

Warren Wamberg is an established Southern California financial services executive who has authored several books. Among the topics of Warren Wamberg’s published works is bank-owned life insurance (BOLI), a tax efficient form of insurance that financial institutions employ in offsetting the costs associated with employee benefits.

BOLI is typically purchased as a single premium, but may also be acquired gradually through annual premiums. With a BOLI policy, the bank acts as the beneficiary. Tax-deferred BOLI cash surrender values increase over time, while allowing the bank to claim a bookable income on the policy each month. At the time of the executive’s passing, the bank receives death benefits, with no taxes assessed.

As a tax-favored asset, BOLI generally delivers after-tax returns that significantly exceed other types of long-term investment, including mortgage backed securities, municipal funds, and 10-year treasury notes. While the bank acts as sole beneficiary and owner of the insurance, in many cases a share of the proceeds is distributed among participants.

Best Places to Golf in San Diego

For the last 30 years, Warren Wamberg has served as the CEO of several companies in Minneapolis, Illinois, and San Diego. When not working, Warren Wamberg engages in many other interests and particularly enjoys reading military history, flying, and golf. Following are three noteworthy courses in San Diego.

1. As the site of the 2021 U.S. Open, Torrey Pines South Course is a world-renowned course where many famous golfers have teed off.  The course is named after the Torrey pine trees that grow atop the steep cliffs along the Pacific Ocean. Most importantly, the course provides visitors with top playing conditions.

2. Torrey Pines North Course is the sister course to Torrey Pines South. Golfers can enjoy panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, and although the North Course is priced lower than the South course, it still provides golfers with a pro-golf experience.

3. Designed by famed golf course architect Ted Robinson, Enagic Golf Club at Eastlake is another championship course that features three waterfalls, six lakes, and many acres of trees. The 18-hole course has bluegrass and ryegrass fairways, and hosts the Farmers Insurance Open Pre-Qualifying.
